Imperial Sugar Benefit BBQ Pork Dinner
IS HUGE SUCCESS - Many Participate
Gerald Schantz of Gerald's Diner and Chuckwagon oragnized a Sunday afternoon benefit pork BBQ that raised over $27,000 for families of employees of the Imperial Sugar Refinery. The refinery was devastated by an explosion and fire.
The event was held in the Port Wentworth City Park and attracted many people from the community. Dontations of food, entertainment and services was a sure sign of the community coming together.
